Listener Feedback
Victor,
Congratulations on completing year first year! I think you're on to something. I sympathize with your struggle about long podcasts vs short ones. I've written to you previously about this. You want to fully cover topics, but also want to make it convenient for the many of us who listen to podcasts while commuting.
When we sync our device, we don't always remember which podcasts we've already heard. We also don't want to waste too much time getting into the beginning of the show to hear your introduction "table of contents" to remember if we've heard it already. --so it's important that you do your table of contents as early in the show as possible. We also appreciate having key words in your title about what is covered -- that helps us when we're deleting shows we've already heard.
A couple of suggestions:
When you have a long broadcast, break it into "segments" and in your introduction say what's in each segment. If a listener doesn't want to hear segment one, then he can skip ahead to the next segment easier.
Also, since all of your TPCU users are "podcast literate" -- we've already figured out how to use some levels of podcast software. Maybe you could help us by giving us some suggestions on how to use podcasts better. What software do other people use? What's out there? How do we use some of the podcast software in our daily lives? Maybe ask others how they find their feeds, download them, sync them, and then delete them? Maybe I'm not doing it as well as I should.
I have a Compaq laptop with winXp--and listen to podcasts on IRiver H10 20GB in my car. I use ipodder 2.1 to collect podcasts. Then WMP to play and synchronize them. I think I've finally figured out how to use the WMP auto playlist feature. Auto Playlist took a while to learn, and there doesn't seem to be as good of instructions as there are for other features -- maybe you could help here. Then I drag the TPCU autoplay list into my IRiver sync list. When I sync my player with laptop, usually the podcasts are moved onto the player.
Once I've listened to the podcasts, I then have to remember to delete them from the laptop when I get home. If I have multiple podcsts on my player and have a "backlog" of some shows, it gets complicated to remember what to delete and what to keep. I'd be interested in hearing how other people handle that problem.
Keep up the good work!

Steve good suggestions all around. I'm aways looking to improve the way I do this (even after almost a year). I will try to put a table of contents early on for sure.
Thanks for using the new Wiki and I did move the content to the feedback section

Hi Victor,
I am listening to your podcasts quite a lot when I am on my way to customers and I like your show very much. One of the things I noticed is that some podcasts are louder/quieter than others, so I have to adjust the volume. Is there a way to bring them all up to the same level?
